This Fragile World
I am currently working on a series of vessels “This Fragile World” which are intended to be aesthetically beautiful whilst indicative of how precarious is the balance of nature.
I work on thin fire paper “drawing” with combinations of smashed glass, frit, paint and silver leaf without base glass. This is then kiln fired to fuse and stretch the glass to the maximum allowing holes to form, these holes can look beautiful but they illustrate that when we overuse the world’s resources things can just get stretched too thin.
